Villanella is an SAB choir where we do quite a bit of renaissance music. We also dabble in baroque, classical, and the occasional modern (still classical), or folk stuff.
Villanella exists to offer something better than the usual choral groups. We want to perform good music beyond notes and rhythms. We explore what it means to do great choral singing and to perform with care for detail and quality. To do that, we focus on ensemble, intonation, blend, phrasing, and everything that actually makes music, including true passion.
Rehearsals are Wednesday evening.
We meet at Grace Lutheran Church, in Hamilton, very close to McMaster.
